We've finally made the switch to the crib and last night, he slept from 10 p.m. to about 6:30 a.m. Hooray! I didn't sleep as much, a combo of dogs waking up and needing to go out and then just waking up and freaking out because it was too quiet. Hopefully he'll sleep through the night again and Tom can deal with the dogs while I sleep.
It wasn't too bad of a transition. The first night (Monday), he didn't do very well and I ended up bringing him back to our room to sleep in the bassinet for part of it. I think that was due to the warm weather and still readjusting to a busy weekend. On Tuesday, he did much better, although he still woke up quite a bit. We don't have a chair in there for me to sit in, so I had brought my desk chair in. Unfortunately, it makes a lot of noise when I stand up, so he kept waking up when I went to put him back in his crib. Luckily, he didn't cry when I put him down and would just lay there, maybe suck his thumb for awhile, and finally drift back to sleep. Then last night I nursed him out in the living room and he fell asleep. After awhile I took him back to his room, put him down, and amazingly, he stayed asleep through the whole thing. Hopefully this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
