We seem to be on a sick schedule - every other week, almost invariably on Saturday, we wake up to Ronan having a slight fever. By afternoon, his nose is running like a faucet and he's miserable. He doesn't sleep well, even though he's exhausted, and it's basically just a crappy time for all. Then after a couple of days, he's good as new, and we have a reprieve for a week or so. Lather, rinse, repeat.
I'm sure daycare is part of (if not the) problem, but it's still a bother. And I feel so terrible for him. He just gets so miserable, and cries the second I put him down. I'm hoping he beats this round quickly, because my dad is coming to visit tomorrow, and it would be nice for him to see happy, healthy Ronan, not cranky, crying, snotty Ronan. :) I know he'll be happy to see him either way, but still.
Other than that, things are going well. Ronan's still working on tentatively walking around the coffee table. We had to put a gate up on both entrances to our living room, which the dogs aren't fond of. We used to have the gate up by the stairs and then a low barrier of random household items at the other entrance that the dogs could get over. But then Ronan learned how to climb over, so we had to put the baby gate up. And for some reason, Shadow has relapsed with his fear of linoleum and refuses to go across the kitchen floor. That's a problem, because with the gate up, the only way he can get from the living room to his food or outside is through the kitchen. This evening I went to let them out and he was in the living room. He raced to the kitchen and then stopped. He came racing back to the gate and began whining and getting really agitated. I thought he was going to jump over the gate, but then he just rammed it instead and it fell over. (It didn't break or anything.) So I guess we'll have to get one of those gates that you can open so we can let him in and out. That dog has some issues - he's also terrified of the stairs. But that's ok, we still love him. :)
