Sorry it's been a while since I've update here.
Things are going pretty steady - not a whole lot of changes. I've been working for the past couple of weeks on getting our bathroom ready for a redo. That meant scrapping (and scrapping and scrapping) the old wallpaper off, taking the metal doors off the shower (we're going to just replace it with a regular shower curtain), scrapping and re-staining the window frame, and taping and priming the walls. Priming was done last night and tonight I finally painted! Huzzah! I'm pretty happy with how it looks, although we're going to look at it tomorrow to see if it's going to need another coat. I'm hoping not, because I really just want it to be done so we can put up all the new fixtures I bought.
We got a new light fixture, a new medicine cabinet, new towel rack, and a new shelving unit to go above the toilet. The bathroom is fairly small, so storage space is a premium. I painted the walls a medium blue shade (regale blue from sherwin williams if you have any desire to look it up). I'll put a picture up, but I want to wait till we have everything in there. :) Anyway, it just makes such a difference to put our own touch on a room.
In other news, Ronan's still doing well - teething away and trying to crawl. This morning Tom and I were both shocked to see him get his arms and one leg under him. He still couldn't figure out what to do with the other leg, so he just sort of flopped forward. However, I think we're going to be in trouble soon. :) He's also taken to shrieking/screaming just for the fun of it. He'll let one go that rattles your eardrums and then gives you the biggest grin, as if to say, "Isn't that the coolest thing you've ever heard?!" He definitely has a set of lungs.
I was also impressed that he slept last night, despite the various fireworks going off. Our neighbors have do their own display of real, full-blown fireworks. Very pretty, but loud and not necessarily the most conducive thing for sleeping babies. But it didn't seem to phase him a bit. Loki was a different story - poor dog is not a fan of fireworks and while we were able to get him not to bark at each one, he kept going back and forth between Tom and I for reassurance and finally curled up under my desk. Poor little guy.
Well, I suppose it's bedtime for me. I'll try to be more up-to-date. As always, check Flickr for more pictures. Even when I don't get an update here, I do try to post photos there (for those of you on Facebook, you can see them on my profile as well). Good night!
