Note to self...

...maternity jeans are not made for running.

I made this important discovery on Sunday while walking the dogs. See, when I left the house to go to the lake, the sun was shining - it was a little windy, sure, but the sun made it nice, so I figured I'd be fine wearing a sweatshirt over a tank top. Well, by the time we got to the lake (literally about 2 miles away), it had completely clouded over and the wind had really picked up. (This is not Lake Michigan or Superior or even Lake Erie, so not much of a "lake effect," just general worsening conditions.) So when we got out of the car, I was a bit cold. The dogs of course were just excited to be out and since we hadn't run together in a long time, I figured we'd do a little bit of that, just to get the blood flowing.

Well, after running about 2 feet, I realized that the elastic band of my maternity pants do not hold up well. I was on the brink of a major wardrobe malfunction. Plus my glasses were sliding off my face. So we had to stop running so I could put everything back in place. The dogs weren't thrilled about this short timeframe, but I'm sure that if anyone was watching from the police station they were having a great laugh.
