Sorry it's been a bit since I've updated! Quite a bit has been going on here.
First, in baby-news, things are just progressing along. We find out the sex on Sept. 23 (can't remember if I mentioned that already or not), but until then, not much to report. Meanwhile, my brother-in-law (Douglas) and his wife (Jennifer) had their baby girl on Saturday, 8/30. Her name is Addison Violet and she was a little over 6 lbs. at birth.
Meanwhile, things have been in turmoil on the job front. About two weeks or so ago, the Auditor's office where I was working cut me down to 5 hours a week (so I went in on Friday afternoons). Not exactly helpful. I wasn't really sure what to do from there - i called the temp agency, but they didn't have much going on. Then, out of the blue, my former co-worker at Sterling Jewelers (where I worked before I went back to school) called. A position had opened up and they wanted to know if I would come back. They even gave me a raise from my last salary! So I started there again yesterday. It's been nice to be back with people I know and like. Plus, everyone's been very excited to see me and I had lots of people touch my belly, which was kind of cool. It's been funny too since not many people knew I was coming back, so I've had a lot of folks stop and do a double take when they see me. But anyway, now I'm covered until February, which is a huge relief.
Which brings me to my final point. Back in May, after finding out I was pregnant and realizing I didn't have a job, I went to church and the focus of the sermon was the gospel lesson where Jesus reminds us that the sparrows and the lilies of the field neither sow nor reap nor toil but God provides for them. Even though I've heard that lesson many times, it really struck me that time. Not long after that, I got the job with the Auditor's office. when the fell through, I didn't worry too much, trusting that something would come through and then the Sterling position opened up. I know things don't always just happen and that you have to put in your own work, but it's definitely been helpful in preventing me from worrying too much.
