Happy Easter

Well, we finally made it to Easter. It's been a rough couple of days here, but things are definitely on the up and up.

On Thursday, Ronan came down with a stomach bug, which caused him to throw up after he ate anything. It was a little odd because he didn't really have any other symptoms of being ill. After he'd throw up, he'd spring right back into action. On Friday, however, I woke up with it and let me say, I was not springing right back into action each time I threw up. I'll spare you the icky details, but Friday was an absolutely miserable day. Tom was great and stayed up all day to take care of Ronan, who still wasn't 100% either. By the time Ronan woke up from his afternoon nap, he had taken a turn for the worse. He was very lethargic and wasn't able to hold anything down (even water). So Tom took him into the ER to get him checked out and an IV of fluids. Once again, that made a huge difference. As of today, both Ronan and I are back to normal, for the most part, and Tom is getting caught up on his sleep. I was really glad to get over that, because I love Easter and would have been very sad to miss church today. We did make it and had fun there and now we're home taking it easy.

Aside from this little incident, things have been going well. The weather was gorgeous this past week, which I loved. (It was really hard being sick in bed when it was sunny and 80 outside.) Ronan and I played outside quite a bit, which was fun. He loves to push the recycling bin around the driveway whenever we're outside. Doesn't matter if we start off in the front yard - he'll walk around the house and find it.

We also got his hair cut a few days ago. I wasn't really prepared for it to be as short as it ended up, but I like it. He really looks like a little boy now. I can't believe how fast he's growing up. For the most part, he does really well with getting his hair cut. He didn't freak out when the woman turned on the clippers. The only time he got upset was when she started wetting his hair down to do the final trim with scissors. He's suddenly started hating bath time, which I guess is a common phase, but it's really thrown me for a loop. He went from absolutely loving it to refusing to even sit down. I have to wash him as he's standing up and do it very quickly, half the time with him trying like crazy to get out. Occasionally, he'll sit back down if I give him the shampoo bottle to play with, but that's about it. Which reminds me - for the next baby (whenever that may be), I'm going to pass on buying real toys. Apparently laundry baskets, recycling bins, and shampoo bottles are all the rage.

Well, I should try to get some work done while Ronan's sleeping. Either that or take a nap myself. We'll see which wins out. Happy Easter!

Do you remember how much Rick used to hate taking a bath? He would cry out, "towel, towel!" I used to feel so bad. Mom
