Nearly Full-Term!

As of Monday, I'll be 37 weeks and officially considered full term. While I hope to go all the way to my due date, there is something comforting about reaching this milestone. The nursery is coming together - I've been washing clothes, blankets, and sheets since last night. Additionally, I ordered a bunch of cloth diapers and those came yesterday, so soon I'll start pre-washing those so they'll be all set to go. I plan on using disposable for that first week or so until the meconium passes, but then I'm excited to start using these. They're so cute! While I do have some of the regular prefolds, I got a lot of fitted and all-in-one diapers as well - they're basically just like disposables (they have snaps, for example - no pins, no folding), but obviously, they're washable and reusable.

I'm also excited because of the snow we've been getting since last night, although I feel bad for the kids in the area - we finally get a big snow storm, and of course it happens on the weekend! No snow days for them. I went and took the dogs to the lake, which was a lot of fun. They're in heaven with this and the path and grass area were completely unblemished - at least until we arrived. I ended up only doing about 3/4 of the walk - it takes a lot of work to trudge through that much snow, even when you're not nine months pregnant. But I think everyone still had a good time. Loki would periodically stop and start tunneling with his head through the snow. The drive home though ended up being more exciting than I wanted - we were almost to our street when somehow I spun out. I'm still not sure what happened - I was in the right lane going about 10 mph. There were no turns, I wasn't stopping, I just started spinning. Luckily I was able to stop without a problem and there weren't any cars around so I was able to turn and get home safely. Still, not something I'd recommend.

On the plus side though, when I got home, my neighbor was here plowing my driveway for me. If you haven't been to my house, we have approximately 5 miles of driveway (ok, that's a slight exaggeration) and shoveling it is not fun. But our neighbor across the street has a four-wheeler to which he attaches a plow and does his driveway, ours, and a couple other neighbors. Oh, and about half the street itself. Kind of like Mr. McCoy (for those of you who grew up on St. Mary's St.), but not weird. :)

haha, thanks gals. And Steph, yeah, I'm so excited about those diapers, it's kind of sad. :) I've spent most of today doing all the prewashing.

Glad to hear you're doing well and that you finally have snow! ;) Except for the fact that your car spun around... maybe it was just excited? It's awesome that you have your own snowplow guy, and for free. I want to see a picture of your five mile long driveway! :P
