I had another doctor's appointment today, where I got to meet the other doctor in the practice. He is very nice, friendly, and reassuring, which are all great qualities to have in a doctor. :)
The goal for today was to hear the baby's heartbeat and originally he tried to get it using the little microphone thing (be amazed at my vast technical knowledge and terminology here!), but apparently the baby was hiding behind my pelvis bone and we couldn't get it that way. So we went with another ultrasound and not only did I get to hear the heartbeat (although it went way too quickly!), but I also got to see a much more baby-looking object. :) I saw the head, the heart, and the butt, and there's even a little leg starting to grow. It was amazing.
Oh yeah, and the heartrate was 176 beats per minute, which my sister-in-law Allison told me means I'm having a girl. Of course, the supposedly super-accurate Chinese baby sex predictor that my other sister-in-law told me to try says it's going to be a boy. So it's going to be the battle of superstitions. :)

(btw, I have an ultrasound picture taken last year on July 3rd of Frisco. He was just 8 weeks! I think the similar timing is funny.)
