Another week, another hospital visit

So apparently, on days where I don't work, I go to the hospital. Today, after getting out of the shower, I saw blood on my towel. At first, I wasn't too scared - I had some spotting on Saturday and it cleared up on its own, no problem. Also, I wasn't cramping or anything. However, this was turning into something more than just the occasional spot.

Since I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, I decided to just call the office and see if I could bump my appointment up to today. However, once I mentioned bleeding, I was told (by two different nurses) that I had to go to the OB-triage at the hospital right away. Now THAT scared me. I was expecting them to say, if nothing else, to keep an eye on it and if it got worse, then go to the hospital.

Long story short, though, everything is fine. I went to the hospital and did another ultrasound and everything looks good. The doctor (one of the three I saw - a med student, a resident, then this doctor) said it was probably just normal spotting. It has since stopped, so looks like alls well that ends well. Still, I'm getting a bit tired of this. :)

Also, it appears this baby does not like the doppler machine that picks up the heartbeat. For the second time, the doctor couldn't find the heartbeat, so we had to go to the ultrasound. Either the baby's shy or he/she just loves having its picture taken! On the plus side, I got another photo, so I could show Tom just how far things are progressing.

Phew, I'll be glad when this first trimester is over (only another week or so!)

This is offered in the spirit of making you feel better. :) really. The worrying you are experiencing will continue for. ever. Really. First it's miscarriage, then birth defects, then premature labor, then birth trauma, the developmental issues, not enough weight gain, too much weight gain, and on and on.

That is all my way of saying that I'm glad everything looks okay and I hope it stays that way.

lol, yeah, I know the worrying just shifts from one topic to another.

Thanks!
