So today was a less than stellar one (at least the morning). At around 6 a.m. the dogs started whining, wanting to go outside. I got up and opened the door for them; I didn't have my glasses on, but all of a sudden, I noticed a cat had gotten over our fence and was right by the stairs. I called for the dogs, but too late - they were after the cat and a terrible fight ensued.
Now, of course, hindsight being 20/20 and all, I should've gone back in, woken Tom up and had him take care of this. But there was already a lot of blood, so I just ran out and grabbed the cat so I could put it back over the fence. Bad idea. The stupid thing bit my hand, then scratched my hand and face. I got it over the fence, then ran back inside, bleeding, and woke up Tom. He cleaned the cuts and bite, got the dogs back inside, and then we went to the ER.
After 3 hours there (ick), I was given a tetnus shot, some antibiotics, and a cream for the injuries. I also got a splint on my pointer finger of my left-hand (which makes typing a lot more difficult!) in order to keep from moving the bitten area (the web between my pointer and thumb) too much.
the dogs are mostly ok - Loki has a scratch under one eye and on his ear. Shadow has a lot of blood on his face, but it seems to have come from others, not him. The sweatshirt I was wearing is also a bit bloody (from the animals, not me), but I'm glad I had the sense to put it on. The cat tried to bite my arm, but got its teeth stuck in the fabric instead.
So anyway, that was my early adventure. Good thing I already had today and tomorrow off from work!

every fight my dogs have ever been in happened so fast but seemed so slow. Glad you are all ok!
