I'm so done with illness here. On Wednesday, Ronan woke up with a fever of 105, so we went to the doctor's. They drew blood, did nasal swabs, tested for flu, took a chest x-ray and everything came back normal. So it looks like it was just another virus. He was pretty miserable all day, but around 8 p.m. he started perking up (just in time for bed!). His fever broke around 2 a.m. But then last night, he had another fever, though only about 101. Luckily, that broke too, around 6 a.m. But it just seems like we're in this constant cycle of illness. I realize that's part of the daycare thing, plus winter. But I really wish he'd get better and stay better. Sometimes I get upset, because I think that breastfeeding was supposed to provide him with all these benefits. But on the plus side, his ears have been great! So maybe that's where all the protection went. Who knows.

But aside from the fevers, he's been doing pretty well. I've been falling apart though. Yesterday, I was cooking eggs for Ronan and without thinking, grabbed the very hot pan. So now I have second-degree burns on my thumb, pointer, and middle fingers on my right hand (lucky I'm left-handed). I went to class yesterday with an ice pack because it hurt so very much. Thankfully now the blisters have fully formed and the pain's gone. But then tonight, Ronan got a hold of my phone and when I tried to take it back, he swung it out of my reach and smacked me right on the bridge of the nose. I'm beginning to think I need to walk around in bubble wrap.

Well, I should get back to work. I'm really looking forward to watching the Packers in the Super Bowl. I hope they win - I'm in an office full of Steelers fans! :)
