Procastination post!

Man, I really suck at updating this, huh? You guys might get more updates if I simply wrote a letter and delivered it via Pony Express (fun history fact: Did you know that the Pony Express was only around for 18 months before being replaced by the telegraph?).

Anyway, things are going pretty well here. Ronan is sick once again, but that seems to be the norm for this time of year. He was on antibiotics for awhile and that cleared things up, but the day after his last dose, he was congested again. So far, it doesn't seem to affect him too badly - it's just gross to have his nose constantly running. I swear, we should be investing in Kleenex.

Today I took Ronan out to run errands with me and we stopped by Home Depot. Unbeknownst to me, it was Safety Day there and they had an ambulance, fire truck, and the Akron Children's Hospital's helicopter there. It was pretty cool - we arrived just as the helicopter was getting ready to take off, so we watched that. Ronan was fascinated and kept waving at it. Once they were gone, he'd keep looking were they had been and waving. He also liked the fire truck. So all in all, not a bad errand day for him.

Yesterday, when I picked him up from daycare, I swear he said an actual sentence. When I walked in, he was missing a shoe. As soon as he saw me, he ran over and got it, brought it back to me and said, "Here's my shoe." At least, that's what it sounded like to me. No one else heard it, so I could just be hallucinating, but I'll take what I can get. :)

Ronan also recently tried to escape from his crib. He fell out and scratched his nose pretty badly on the corner. I thought this meant it was time to switch to the big boy bed, but so far he hasn't attempted it again. Hopefully we can wait then for awhile.

Finally, in house news, we got our bathroom redone! It only took them two weeks (exactly what they estimated) and it looks awesome. We got a glass block window put in (to replace the old wooden-framed window that was in our shower and rotting everything out), new tile in the shower and on the floor, new medicine cabinet, new sink with a granite counter top, new vanity. Now we just need to get the walls painted and we should be all set. I'm really happy it's done. Not only were the walls in bad shape, but it turned out that the toilet had not been properly installed and had been leaking into the floor for decades. After the worker took it out, he accidentally put his foot through the floor - it went straight through to the garage. So that got fixed too, at no extra cost. Huzzah! Now I really want to redo our kitchen, but that's a long ways off!

And now it's time to get back to work. I'll try to be better about posting, but no guarantees there.
