I recently realized that Ronan is going to be 3 in almost two months. It's kind of crazy to me. (I realize that three is the logical follower of two, but still!) It reamins funny to me how time can seem to go both so fast and so slow at the same time. I can barely remember what life was like before Ronan - it seems like we've had him forever. Yet at the same time, it doesn't seem like it's already been three years.

Sometimes I just stand back and watch him and realize how big he's getting. He's pretty much completely potty trained (except for night, which I have no desire to start working on). He wakes up in the morning and will go into the bathroom, take off his sleeper, throw away his diaper, and go potty. I almost never have to remind him anymore to go potty during the day - he'll just get up and run down there. He's also gotten to the point where he now wants the door shut and for me to "go away" when he's in there. (Of course, that same level of privacy does not extend to Tom or I, but it's a start.) Tom's also been working really hard with him about putting his clothes in the hamper when he's done. Ronan likes to also put things in the washing machine - the bad part for me is that he now knows how to turn it on and get it started (without putting detergent in). He then likes to sit down on the floor and watch it spin (we have a front-loader, in case you couldn't tell). He also wants me to sit and watch it with him. That's ok - it means I get to sit for a couple minutes, a rare occurrence with this boy.

Ronan's also started verbalizing different emotions. When we watch TV, he usually will point out if someone is happy or sad. He's also started saying that he's scared of things. Thankfully, that usually cured by a quick hug, after which he says "I'm fine" and then pushes away so he can go back to playing. He also has a new game with us, where he'll say "Guess what?" and once we say what, he says, "I love you!" and then gives a kiss on the cheek. It's a very cute game. :)

Pregnancy stuff is going well - I had my 20 week appointment yesterday and everything looks good. I've decided not to find out if it's a boy or girl, so my apologies to those of you who were waiting to hear. I just think it'll be fun to hear someone announce "It's a boy" or "it's a girl" in the delivery room. But of course, it's still another 20 weeks away, so we'll see if I change my mind. I did have to laugh at the fact that my doctor's first words to me at my appointment were "No more hospital visits for the next 19 weeks." It has been a crazy couple of months. But I also felt better from this appointment since everything is measuring right, including the amniotic fluid levels and my blood pressure. I really hope I can avoid being induced this time around. My doctor said that the issues I had last time don't automatically repeat with the next - he says there's roughly a 20-25% chance that I'll have the same problems, so hopefully it'll work out well.
